The Spotfire community is the top place to go to learn all about what’s latest in Spotfire, see the top use cases for your industry, and discover new innovations from users just like you. We’ve put together this blog to help you navigate the site and show you how you can easily get plugged in—such as how you can log in, search the site, ask a question, and more!
How can I get started?
To get started on the Spotfire community, you can sign up for free and create an account. We’d suggest using your business email. If you were a previous user of the TIBCO community, you can use the same email and use the “forgot my password” feature to trigger a password reset. Then you’ll have all the same data before from your previous Spotfire posts.
If you need assistance with your log in, please email community@spotfire.com.
How do I find what I need?
There are two main ways to search the community. You can use the main navigation at the top, or you can type keywords into the search bar. The Forums contain all the questions and discussions while the Articles contain all the Spotfire-created knowledge on the community.
If you haven’t found what you were looking for in the search bar, you can adjust the search settings by searching for phrases or changing other settings. The “didn’t find what you were looking for?” feature shows the different searches you can run.
You can also search specific areas of the site by clicking the “more search options” button.
If you need help finding something from the old community on the new community, please email community@spotfire.com, and we can assist!
How do I ask a question?
To ask a question of Spotfire users and experts, head over to the forums and select the relevant one for your needs. Then click the button “start a topic” to post!
Posts or discussions are called “topics” on the community. To get the best response to your question, be sure to be specific about what you’d like to know and what version of Spotfire you are using. We’d also recommend searching the community to see if your question has already been answered before starting a new one.
If you’re having an issue with your product specifically, you’ll want to file a support ticket, rather than posting about it on the community, so our support team can quickly diagnose and assist.
What else can I do on the community?
The top visited areas on the community are the Forums, Articles, and the Exchange:
- Forums are where you can post, answer, and read other questions from users.
- Articles are where we host all our most technical and in-depth information about using Spotfire (outside of official product documentation or the Support Knowledge Base).
- The Exchange is where you can download all the exciting Spotfire extensions like Spotfire® Mods or Spotfire® Apps.
Besides asking questions of other Spotfire users, you can engage with our community in many other ways! Check out our industry-specific Clubs to connect with others in the Energy, Life Sciences, or Manufacturing sectors.
If you’re a big Dr. Spotfire fan, you can join that club and post your suggestions for future sessions in the tabs “Live Sessions Q&A” or “Quick Tips Q&A.”
Besides clubs, you can see what Events are happening at Spotfire, direct message other users, or double-click into self-paced Training.
We’ll be adding more gamification and achievement-based challenges in the future, so stay tuned…
